Some people see things that are, and ask, why? Some people dream of things that never were, and ask, why not? Some people have to go to work and don’t have time for all that. - George Carlin
"Life, Death and Everything in Between" is the Danish, screamer-songwriter quartet Stöj Snak's sophomore album. 12 tracks of heartfelt, folky troubadour-punk infused with plenty of raw energy and melodic catchiness.
Released four years after the debut, this album completes the transition from one-man-band to four-piece. The songs still revolve around singer/songwriter Niels Højgaard Sørensen's raspy yet melodic voice but are clearly built to be performed by a band - full of instrumental finesse and ripe with washboards, double-bass and other trash instruments (counting members...
With their recent epic concept album "Sun Worship Kingdom", Mostar, Bosnia, and Herzegovina based atmospheric post metal quintet Brainswitch are giving us the latest glimpse into their mesmerizing soundscapes, sharing new video for the track "Psithurism Astronauts"! Directed & edited by the band's guitarist Goran Tiro.
Asked about the meaning of the song, the band commented: "This song is about a 'love-hate' relationship with the environment we live in. There are so many things to love and enjoy and at the same time so many negative aspects just draining you down. It is a call to a philosopher to come to our town, not to despair, but...
Danish screamersongwriter quartet Stöj Snak announces their second full-length album "Life, Death and Everything in Between" and drops the first track "Fire"
The track is one of the more action-packed songs and sees the band taking it's folkpunk sound up a notch, blending in almost thrash-sounding riffs and plenty of screaming while still maintaining a catchy, melodic edge in the songwriting.
The singer/songwriter Niels has the following to say about the track:
"Given the subject matter of the song, it’s appropriate that it comes out on 9/11. A date that has been carved into our collective consciousness for how profoundly, the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the following conflicts and wars have shaped the world, its politics and our...
Nord premieres a lyric video for "Lo-Hi" from their debut Play Restart.
As the frontman and bass player Mihael Prosen stated, the number is equally important as the rest of the material mainly because it reveals some deeply emotional period of his life. The lyric video was the right decision because it sets the importance of the lyrics upfront.
"Quench" is the 3rd single from the band's new album "OPT-OUTism", freshly released by Geenger Records.
The video is entirely made by the band, so here's what they have to say:
"Quench" was written in February of 2019 and although it is a song about social distancing and staying at home, it has nothing to do with this whole Covid thing. Also, no Kichos were harmed during the making of this video.
"OPT-OUTism" is available on vinyl in two versions (splatter/marbled and clear) and digitally.
Kevlar Bikini strikes back with their fourth album meaningfully named "OPT-OUTism". This Zagreb-based hardcore punk trio delivers another comprehensive collection of immensely powerful tunes, which have been saturated with gracious servings of magnificent elements of metal and noise rock. The band sounds vital, relevant, highly energetic throughout the entire album without any intention to decrease the intensity and slow down.
We are talking about the band who did this whole social distancing and self-isolation thing long before it was cool. As a result, they have a new album "OPT-OUTism", which provides sheer sonic aggression separated in ten high-octane compositions, loaded with threatening vocals, massive riffs, catchy basslines and a badass drumming performance that will certainly shake your entire body.
"Tamo gori" is Dunja Knebl & Kololira's third album, and it corresponds with the incredible situation we are facing in the world today.
When beginning to work on the album more than two years ago, the idea for the album’s story was in the meaning of the Italian saying "Tutto il mondo è un paese" ("The whole world is a single village.", or "People will be people the whole world over.", or "One world, one people".), and now that the album is finished it can apply to today’s pandemic situation when we are all "in the same pot".
Even though the songs are old traditional folk songs from different countries (England, Ukraine, Russia, USA, Croatia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina), dating from some...
Mostar based post-metallers Brainswitch made a video ode to the Sun! "Bow Down to the Sun" is another emphasis track from their recently released album "Sun Worship Kingdom". It is a ten-track concept album portraying a generation’s utopian experience in a dystopian environment.
The video was shot a couple of days before the appearance of the Corona apocalypse, and was edited and directed by the band's guitarist Goran Tiro.
The band says: "This is one of the first songs we wrote for "Sun Worship Kingdom" and it is certainly one of the favorites to perform live. It has that dark core vibe of the Brainswitch...
"Old Mystic Lore" by Zimogroz has been released today!
Zimogroz were founded at the very beginning of 2018, with the sole purpose to deliver a relentlessly sincere black metal sound. Being from Dubrovnik, the world-famous medieval Croatian town on the southern Adriatic Sea, the outfit's mission is to create music that incorporates aspects of their hometown’s history and culture. The name of the group also references their origins: A "zimogroz" is someone severely affected by cold and winter.
Their debut album "Old Mystic Lore" combines medieval thematics and a classic approach to black metal. Highly energetic sonic clusters enhanced by outstanding vocals lay evidence to the accomplished musicianship of the entire band. Black metal might be their primary weapon of...
The blackened punk rock riffs that are responsible for the earthquake in Zagreb at the end of March now have an accompanying video. "The Wailer" is the second single from Kevlar Bikini's upcoming album "OPT-OUTism" soon to be released.
The band proclaims – "The Wailer" is a song about those annoying people who whine to anyone who will listen and, on the other hand, a song about NOT finding the comfort in the fact that other people have bigger problems than you. Your problems are all that matters... so wail on...
"OPT-OUTism" is scheduled to be released on May 22, 2020. Pre-order is available via...
